When entering into a consignment contract with a member of the public, all contracts must be in writing and contain all of the following conditions, as required by the Motor Vehicle Dealers (Sales) Regulations 1974. The Motor Trade Association of WA`s standard consignment contract meets these requirements. The manual discusses the responsibility of car dealers in managing their fiduciary accounts. In particular, merchants should comply with the requirements for payments made in and out of the trust account. The management of fiduciary accounts will be discussed in more detail on the car dealer audit website. 1.
